King William’s College is delighted to receive glowing feedback from The Department of Health and Social Care’s Annual Inspection Report 2022-23.

King William’s is an independent boarding school, where boarders living at the College receive accommodation and support. At the time of the inspection there were 76 boarders using the service.

The inspection was carried out from 21st March until 23rd March, 2023, led by an inspector from the Department of Health and Social Care’s Registration and Inspection Team. The inspection assessed five key areas of the boarding service provided by the College.

Important elements of the boarders’ experience were taken into consideration during the inspection, including their safety, the effectiveness of the service provided and staff responses to boarders’ needs. Feedback from boarders confirmed that they felt safe with the staff looking after them, and that boarders had their assessed needs, preferences and choices met appropriately by staff with the right qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience.

The service provided by the College met all the inspection framework requirements of being safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

Stuart Corrie, Deputy Head Pastoral at King William’s College, said: “We are thrilled to receive such a positive report, which highlights the positive outcomes for our pupils in every area of the inspection. It is also pleasing to note that the dedication of our boarding staff has been recognised in this latest inspection, and that we are able to put measures in place to ensure an even better experience for our students in the future. It is an exciting time to be part of the boarding community at King William's College and we welcome enquiries and visits from local and international families.”
