Four Seniors at Soeul Foreign High School – Chloe Han, Tiffany Whitfield, Austin Kwak and Brian Rhee – have been named as semi-finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Award program.

In the US this status is one of the highest accolades a Junior in high school can achieve going into their Senior year readying for college applications.

The program is in its 64th year and highly respected around the world. Our Seniors achieved this based on scores earned in their Junior year. Only 1% of the 1.6m entrants achieve this status.

To be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, semi-finalists must fulfil several requirements to advance to the finalist level of the competition.

About 90 percent of the semi-finalists are expected to attain finalist standing, and about half of the finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship.
