Celebrating the Grade 5 PYP Exhibition at Hangzhou International School

Posted on 12th Jun 2025 in School News

We are excited to share the highlights from our annual Grade 5 PYP Exhibition held last Friday at Hangzhou International School. This event was more than just a presentation; it represented a journey of inquiry, discovery, and deep learning that our Grade 5 students have engaged in over the past 9 weeks.

Throughout this process, students identified issues they are passionate about, researched extensively, collaborated effectively, and took action to make a positive impact. The Exhibition exemplifies the PYP philosophy in action, showcasing our students' ability to apply their knowledge and skills across various disciplines.

During the Exhibition, each group presented their research outcomes through various modes of expression, including music, PE, math, English, Mandarin, art, and design technology. This approach highlights their commitment to the IB learner profile attributes: being inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, courageous, balanced, and reflective.

Additionally, the Exhibition is a crucial bridge as our students transition from the PYP to the Middle Years Programme (MYP). It provided them with invaluable experience in independent research, critical thinking, and self-management skills that will be essential for their success in the MYP and beyond. The confidence they gained from presenting their findings, sharing ideas, and collaborating with peers will benefit them in their future academic endeavors.

Congratulations to our 84 amazing Grade 5 students on successfully completing their PYP Exhibition. We are immensely proud of each of you!
