Carlsbad International School celebrates first graduation ceremony

Carlsbad International School (CIS), in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, held its first Graduation Ceremony on Friday, May 19.

In 2014 Carlsbad International School opened up as a new educational project in the world renowned spa town of Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic. This international boarding high school offers pre-diploma and IB Diploma programmes to boys and girls aged 14-18.

Davi Sanchez Netto, Head of School, says: “In 2014 we launched the school year with 22 students. The following year the number of our international students doubled and this year we have 70 students from over 29 nationalities. 

"CIS has become a real part of the Karlovy Vary community, supporting international sports events, such as the City Triathlon, golf or tennis. Last year we launched new sport programmes with an individualised training approach (triathlon, golf and tennis)."

"Our students participate in many charity projects helping the SOS Village, Children Homes and doing community service.

"On Friday, May 19th our first graduates will leave CIS. They completed their IB Diploma Programme and with this internationally highly regarded certificate the doors to prestigious universities are open for them. Most of them chose economics, business, hotel management but some will continue in specialised fields, such as psychology. 

"Thanks to the English skills they developed at CIS, they can enrol in universities worldwide. We have students applying to colleges in China, Singapore, the USA, Great Britain, the Netherlands,Germany, and in Russia.

"I would like to wish them all the best wherever their careers take them."

Carlsbad International School is a coeducational day and boarding international school for pupils aged 14-18.
