Opened in August 2019, The British School of Vilnius is the first choice for families seeking an English National Curriculum education complete with its ethos and values. The school is the first in Vilnius to offer this curriculum and is located in a stunning area of the city. BSV is a truly British international school in every sense.

Choosing the right international school for your child can be one of the most difficult decisions that parents have to make. All schools (including us) seem to say the same things, 'We have high academic standards', 'We provide a safe and secure environment', 'We believe in close links with parents' however we truly do offer your child the best in so many ways.

As a school we are unashamedly ambitious with the education we provide, ensuring the children thrive not just academically, but also personally and socially. Every child who attends our school is uniquely special to us. We endeavour to instil not only a love for learning but the values and experiences that will remain with them throughout their lives.

Our school's mission is to be 'A World Leading School', which means nothing less than having the highest standards in everything we do.

The British School of Vilnius is dedicated to the best of traditional educational values. We offer a stimulating and creative curriculum that combines a focus on numeracy and literacy alongside developing the whole child academically, socially and personally.

The British School of Vilnius curriculum is based on the English National Curriculum with a twist. This curriculum is both rigorous, respected and recognised around the world. The curriculum is adapted to allow a more international perspective and includes studies of the local language, culture and heritage.

Rigorous:

Pupils who complete their education will attain a high level of competency across all subjects. Learning is mostly question-based with an emphasis on problem-solving, aiming to build a pupil's ability to reason and think independently.

Child-Centered:

Teaching and learning are about making the most of a child's natural curiosity to learn and be inquisitive. In Early Years, learning takes place principally through guided play. As work gradually becomes more structured in Primary School and into Secondary. Lessons are planned to be exciting and engaging.

Personalised Curriculum:

Teachers plan lessons with differentiated outcomes allowing for a range of achievements. This enables teachers to match each experience as closely as possible to individual needs while providing scope for pupils to be stretched academically.

Global:

A global vision is embedded throughout the entire curriculum, and all subjects extend national borders and become universal. In addition to a rigorous and challenging academic programme, we also run lively sports, music, arts and drama programmes. This approach presents students with many opportunities to develop their skills and interests outside of the classroom.

The British School of Vilnius views after-school activities and enrichment as an integral part of the education of our students. To that end, our school offers a wide range of clubs that aim to introduce your child to potential hobbies, develop particular sports, provide language learning or coding, for example. This will aid and inspire interests in areas that perhaps they would not be exposed to through the regular curriculum.

The future is looking very bright for the British School of Vilnius as we near the completion of a new campus. Planned to open in September 2023 our new campus is located in Vilnius City Innovation Industrial Park (VCIIP) only a few minutes away from our current campus. VCCIP will become the hub of technology and life science in Vilnius with its excellent infrastructure and transport links to the city centre. Our new campus will house all the facilities you expect from a top international school.

  • 25m Swimming Pool
  • Full size Football Pitch
  • Large indoor sports hall
  • Outdoor multipurpose court
  • Large Learning Resource Centre
  • Science and STEAM Labs
  • Music Rooms and recording studio

These additional facilities in conjunction with our high academic standards and strong family feel will enable us to deliver a world class education to our students.

Admissions are currently open for Nursery to Year 10 with the school continuing to open additional year groups each year, eventually catering for children aged from 2 to 18 years old. While admission to our school is selective, our admissions procedure is straightforward, and the majority of the information requested can be provided online.

Entry assessments are required and can be organised either at our school campus or remotely if you are applying from abroad. Full details of our admissions processes are available on the schools website.
