The Metropolitan School of Panama (MET) is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School for students aged 3-18. We are the first IB continuum school in Panama authorized to offer the PYP, MYP and DP programmes in English. We deliver individualized instruction, working step by step with students to ensure each child reaches their personal level of excellence through a balanced academic program.

The MET is proud to form part of Nord Anglia Education, the world's leading premium schools organization, uniting more than 80 other outstanding schools in 32 countries worldwide. NAE's global family of schools share a common philosophy that there is no limit to what its students can achieve. We embrace an open culture of inclusion and belonging and celebrate our diversity. International Day is a highlight of the academic year, when MET families come together to share their cultures through fun activities. Our House system, where everyone belongs to one of four houses, is also a way we come together to embrace school spirit and forge strong bonds across the community.

Our goal is to educate your child for the future, enhancing learning through collaborations with the world's best organizations. Our world-class collaborations with The Juilliard School, MIT, UNICEF and IMG Academy especially boost our students' interests and passions with a sense of purpose, as they learn from globally leading experts. Our Juilliard curriculum gives all our students the innovative tools to think creatively, explore the unexpected, and celebrate diverse cultures. Likewise, The MIT-Nord Anglia STEAM program helps our students to develop their creativity and problem-solving skills by tackling interdisciplinary challenges facing the world today and connect their actions with sustainability and social impact via our UNICEF collaboration.

Each MET teacher builds a good relationship with your child, knowing how to tailor lessons and activities to their interests, needs, and goals. They will give your child the right amount of challenge or support needed and will guide them to learn more about the world with opportunities to explore both local traditions and international cultures.

MET Campus

Our 5-hectare campus, opened in 2020, offers unparalleled educational facilities, not just in Panama but in Central America. We are a school committed to the education of the future and are proud to offer a 1-to-1 technology program for all students, implementing Apple technology throughout the school.

Students discover a world beyond the traditional classroom with modern learning spaces designed for collaborative learning; including 7 fully equipped science labs, a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) lab, plus incredible arts facilities, spanning well-equipped dance, music, and drama rooms. Our campus additionally has first-rate athletic facilities for fitness and wellness, including indoor sports halls, a six-lane 25-meter swimming pool, FIFA-regulation soccer field, gym with a basketball/volleyball court, and two all-weather pitches.

Academic Excellence

The MET's excellent results and acceptances at the world's leading universities are a testament to our excellent execution of the IB Programmes and our dedicated teachers and the constant support offered to our students through our experienced Counselors and IB Coordinators ensures MET students achieve outstanding IB Diploma results, leading them to the world's best universities across Europe, the US, Japan, New Zealand, and Canada. Our 2024 graduates were awarded an exceptional $8.5 million in scholarships and our highest individual IB score was 43 points in 2023.

Our Social Purpose

MET students connect with different communities to contribute their skills, knowledge and energy for the benefit and well-being of others. In the process, our students expand their worldview and discover how they can make a difference.

You won't find an international school in Panama better equipped to prepare your child for a successful future. Enrolment is open throughout the year.
