Established in 2000 with only 5 students in Richmond Hill, La Citadelle relocated to North York in 2001 and then to its present larger facility in the heart of the city in 2015. La Citadelle has since seen its enrolment and reputation grow exponentially. Spanning all grade levels, from Prep-K to Grade 12, La Citadelle offers a comprehensive and academically advanced curriculum in Languages (French, English, Mandarin, Spanish), Mathematics, Sciences, Technology, Humanities and Arts, along with its Reach Ahead and enriched IB and AP programs, providing both its national and international student population with the highest caliber of education and instruction needed to successfully pursue higher education with scholarships in the most prominent universities in Canada and around the world.

An established and highly reputable private school, La Citadelle's dedicated team of educators believe that all students are special, that they all have hidden talents, along with an enormous potential to achieve and that it is their duty and responsibility as educators to tap into students’ capabilities and talents while providing them with a substantially structured program and discipline model in a warm, safe and inviting environment where students can learn and succeed with joy, enthusiasm, and determination.

La Citadelle's holistic learning environment extends traditionally beyond the classroom with a variety of activities, field trips, and both national and international travels, which are complemented by intramural / extracurricular sports, academic competitions and clubs, musical performances, social activities, and more. With a solid level of individual student support and a low student/teacher ratio, La Citadelle's multicultural environment additionally provides its student population an unparalleled support system and a rich social setting that fosters lifelong friendships.

During the 2020-2021 academic year, La Citadelle will provide hybrid instruction to its students, combining both onsite and remote online teaching and learning in order to accommodate its needs during the present COVID-19 pandemic.
