Kensington, Your British School
Kensington School is a coeducational day school located in Madrid which provides British education for children from the age of 18 months to 18 years.
Our pupils study from their first day in a British school with native teachers, following the same educational system as any child in the United Kingdom. We aim to offer our students an excellent human and academic education, so that they leave our school as fine young men and women, fluent in English, Spanish and French with internationally-recognised qualifications and results which open the doors to any Spanish or international university. Supported in their path through the school by a personal, holistic approach to education, our children learn critical thinking, how to live and work together on their way to becoming happy, well-rounded adults.
Pupils at Kensington achieve outstanding results in external examinations [IGCSE, Cambridge, DELF and EvAU] thanks to our system of careful individual tracking of student achievement. Individual needs are met: whether they are experiencing difficulties, or whether they excel. Class teachers and tutors, the support teachers, the small groups, the concept of ‘differentiation’ of the British curriculum and the guidance department are key elements in a strong support system.
A holistic and creative curriculum
At Kensington, we value the ‘intangibles’, those aspects of a child which can’t be evaluated by a simple test or exam, but which nevertheless will be vital for their future. The British education system promotes a holistic and creative curriculum in which sports & arts, music+computing are key subjects for a complete education. Pupils learn to love and respect each other, to work towards deadlines and objectives, to enjoy their learning while developing resilience in the face of challenges.
