KIBS is an inclusive, coeducational bilingual day school serving the internationally minded community of Hannover and its region - 'local roots, global understanding' is our aphorism. We follow the German state curriculum enhanced with competencies from other international curricula. Our students will sit the German Abitur (A Level) and Cambridge Language Examinations to gain entry to English speaking universities if desired. Our students work with iPads as an educational tool from Year 1 onwards, culminating with our individualised learning programme (KILP) and personalised concept throughout secondary school. The linguistic goal of our school is to create successful German/English bilinguals, who can adapt and thrive in this ever-changing, globalised world. To achieve this, we use the immersion method which comes as close as possible to natural language acquisition. In our nursery and kindergarten groups, we have native English and German speaking educators. All of our class teachers in our primary school are English native speakers and the different subject areas in our secondary school are taught by native English and/or German teachers with an increasing amount of German as an instructional language the older the students get.
