Helping Young People Find Their Place in the World
In a fast-changing world, education should be more than academics. At International School Zurich North (ISZN), learning is about identity, confidence, and finding your place – within a community, and beyond.
Located in Wallisellen, just two train stops from Zurich's main station, ISZN offers a British Curriculum education for students aged 3 months to 18 years. With a nurturing, personalised approach and a strong academic foundation, ISZN helps children grow into kind, capable, and curious global citizens.
From the earliest years, children at ISZN are supported in both English and German, laying the groundwork for strong communication and cultural awareness. In the Early Years programme – starting from just three months old – learning is play-based, caring, and bilingual, focusing on natural language development, exploration, and joy in discovery.
The Primary School follows the British National Curriculum, adapted for our international environment. It combines academic rigour with creative, inquiry-led learning. Students develop confidence in literacy and numeracy through trusted frameworks such as Read Write Inc. and White Rose Maths, while exploring science and humanities through project-based study.
As students enter the Middle Years, they continue along the British pathway, deepening their subject knowledge and strengthening their critical thinking and communication skills. This stage prepares them for the structure and expectations of formal examinations.
By Upper School, learners are ready to pursue Cambridge IGCSEs and Edexcel A Levels – internationally respected qualifications that open doors to top universities across Switzerland, Europe, the UK, and beyond. Throughout, ISZN balances academic excellence with personal care, ensuring every student feels seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.
But education at ISZN extends far beyond the classroom. Students enjoy a vibrant Co-Curricular Programme that includes LEGO Robotics, drama, Playball, and award-winning sports teams. These experiences nurture creativity, teamwork, and resilience while encouraging friendships that last.
The school's modern, light-filled campus in Wallisellen features flexible classrooms, a STEAM lab, outdoor play areas, and a bright, welcoming library – all designed with wellbeing in mind.
As part of the global Cognita Schools Group, ISZN students take part in international collaborations and cross-cultural projects that expand their global awareness and empathy.
With more than 35 nationalities among students and over 20 among staff, diversity is lived daily at ISZN. Our international outlook is not just taught – it is experienced.
What truly sets ISZN apart is its people. Teachers bring global experience, creativity, and care to every classroom. They take the time to know each child as a learner and as a person.
At every step, ISZN focuses on what really matters:
ISZN is more than a school – it's a community where young people are empowered to find their voice, their confidence, and their place in the world.
