Founded in 2000, Hong Kong Academy (HKA) is a non-profit international school that provides a highly personalised and holistic education for students from 3-18 years old. HKA's educational programmes are designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive as thoughtful and successful individuals who meaningfully contribute to their local and global communities.

Three Diploma credentials

From our Early Childhood programme to the final years of Secondary School, teachers provide well rounded, student-centred experiences that encourage all learners to fulfill their greatest potential. All HKA graduates can earn up to three Diploma credentials; the HKA Diploma, Global Citizen Diploma (GCD) certificate, and IB Diploma or IB course certificates. HKA's students consistently outperforming the IB Diploma Programme world pass rate and average total points, and we are the only school in Hong Kong to offer the GCD.

A unique international education

Small class sizes and a low student to teacher ratio allow for individualised attention; within our classrooms, we have the ability to meet the needs of accelerated learners as well as students requiring learner support. We offer a wealth of curricular and co-curricular programmes on our award-winning campus.

Award-winning campus

In recognition of our mission as an innovative and future-focussed school, our campus is rated Gold BEAM by the Green Building Council of Hong Kong. Designed to operate as a sustainable learning lab, the campus employs durable materials and data collection systems which enable students to connect their learning to their surroundings. We encourage students to see themselves as custodians of our world and they work alongside faculty and staff on sustainability projects, giving them a voice in operational decisions which benefit our social and natural world.

Highly engaged community

A warm and engaging community, HKA parents are integral to the school as volunteers. Whether serving on the board of trustees, reading in the classroom, sharing their experience as industry experts and mentors, leading community events, supporting the theatre or coaching HKA athletes, parents are partners who enrich our school in many ways.

Global alumni network

At the core of an HKA education is the belief that students should be encouraged to pursue their individual pathways to excellence. HKA graduates are able to effectively apply research, critical thinking and communication skills precisely, flexibly and intentionally. We are proud to be an inclusive and multicultural community, our graduates pursue post-secondary degrees in a diverse range of disciplines with the majority entering their first-choice universities and successfully securing employment in a wide variety of professions all over the world.
