Green School Bali is a Pre-K to Grade 12 international school with 350 students from more than thirty different countries around the world, including 36 local scholarship students from Bali. Our mission is to nurture a global community of learners making our world sustainable. Green School's wall-less bamboo campus connects students to their natural environment, fostering empathy and a biocentric perspective. The curriculum focuses on experiential learning in nature, and empowers students to find creative, values-driven solutions to the problems they encounter in the world.
An education at Green School is co-created between students and their teachers. We believe in developing a new kind of IQ - Intelligent Questioning - and encouraging students to actively pursue the questions they have about the things that interest them the most. From there, teachers integrate foundational proficiencies in math, science and literacy into the projects students pursue. At every level, students are encouraged to find solutions to real-world problems and are empowered to affect change. Student empowerment is so essential because when students are in the driving seat, they are so much more invested. In this way, we foster a life-long love of learning that stays with our students long after they leave Green School.
We call our learning R.E.A.L - Relationship-driven, Entrepreneurial, and evolving, Authentic to real-world circumstances and grounded in the Local community and cultural context. In addition to adhering to the REAL approach, each class at Green School also incorporates our Three Frames of Learning. The Experiential Frame is simply 'learning by doing' rather than just through books and instructions. The Proficiency Frame refers to the strong Literacy, Mathematics and Science components we integrate into each lesson. And the Thematics Frame represents the themes around which lessons are planned each term. These themes are grounded in our iRespect values of integrity, responsibility, empathy, sustainability, peace, equality, community and trust.
