Cambridge House British International School is a private, secular, independent school located in Valencia that follow the National Curriculum of England while meeting all Spanish schooling requirements. The school was the first school in Spain to obtain both the BSO distinction (British School Overseas) and NABSS accreditation (National Association of British Schools in Spain), seals that guarantee the educational excellence of this school founded in 1986.

The school joined Globeducate in September 2021, as part of the Globeducate British International Schools cluster with a clear goal: to be the first choice international school in Valencia, building a community of lifelong learners for a better future. They provide a system of learning designed to foster curiosity and confidence along with imparting all the necessary skills and knowledge required to succeed in exams and evaluations.

Its curriculum is designed to facilitate understanding of the world and the challenges young people will face. English is the vehicular language, and full immersion is achieved from the first day of school, in Early Years, although it is complemented with Spanish and French classes as the students progress through the school year.

Cambridge House offers an extensive educational programme for students aged 16 - 18 years old supporting student access to their first-choice university. The school offers a fully integrated curriculum of A Levels and Spanish Selectivo subjects to enable students to successfully gain access to local, national and international universities. The school also offers a vocational pathway for students at his level as an alternative to the academic pathway. This is in the form of an award-winning UK Btec programme of student. Students also benefit from extensive personalised advice and guidance from tutors to support their university applications.

Facilities

Cambridge House is currently immersed in a process of remodelling its facilities, signed by the prestigious architecture studio Rosan Bosch Studio, which will further position the school as a benchmark for cutting-edge education in the Valencian community. The school already has two new Innovation and Knowledge Centres for Primary and Secondary students, and next school year will have a space specifically designed to carry out Outdoor Learning activities, a new playground and classrooms for Key Stage 1 and a completely remodelled area for Early Years.

Students as individuals

Educational success is key to its philosophy, but beyond pure academic success. The National Curriculum of England encourages students to explore the world around them, be curious about how things work, ask questions, apply critical thinking skills, and respect fellow students and teachers alike. Teamwork and communication skills form a key foundation to all its educational programmes. Additionally, all students are encouraged to become socially, ethically and environmentally aware.

The school aims to prepare students for life after school, teaching them skills that will help to succeed in secondary school, further education and the workplace. Learning experiences also take place outside the classroom; assemblies, cultural events and fun educational trips provide further opportunities to learn and develop.

More than just a school

At Cambridge House learning is not always about lessons. The school offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities to choose from, exchanges and a full programme of international events within Globeducate schools' network. The school also encourages Outdoor Learning and relies on a House System to foster collaboration between pupils of different ages, team spirit, leadership skills and a sense of pride in belonging to a strong and committed community.
