Founded in 2003, Shenzhen College of International Education (SCIE) was the first high school to offer an international curriculum in Shenzhen, China. It delivers (I)GCSE, AS, AL and AP courses to both day and boarding students who have undergone a rigorous and highly selective admissions process. In 2024, the Year 10 acceptance rate was 10%.

SCIE students are well-rounded, compassionate and highly-driven. They learn and thrive in an international and challenging environment, developing social responsibility, creativity, independence and enthusiasm during their four years at the College. Academically, their passion for learning, commitment and resilience have brought them the highest accolades in external examinations. In the Cambridge Assessment International Education IGCSE, AS and AL summer exams 2023, 12 SCIE students received 'Top in the World', 14 'Top in China' and 6 students received 'High Achievement'. In total, 32 students from SCIE received Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards, accounting for one-quarter of the total awardees nationwide (121 individuals), outperforming all other CAIE schools in China. Over the 16 years, SCIE students have won 142 global firsts and 237 Chinese firsts in individual subjects and overall scores, and the total number of awards has reached 379.

Beyond the classroom, SCIE students have equally impressive achievements, especially in competitive events that challenge them to contribute to the wider community. In 2023, S.T. Yau High School Science Award, SCIE students received Excellence Award in Mathematics. At the UK Chemistry Olympiad, 87 students earned awards, including 39 Global Gold, 35 Global Silver, and 13 Global Bronze. In the British Physics Olympiad(BPhO) Round 2, they achieved 4 Global Silver and 2 Global Bronze honors. Our iGEM team won the Global Gold Award, ranked in the top 10, and received recognition for Best Integrated Human Practice and Best Hardware. In 2023 Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) competitions, they earned three first-place and two second-place rankings, advancing to the FBLA NLC Global Finals and securing spots on the FBLA China National Team. They also performed well in the IYSC Youth Swimming Challenge 2023, winning two silver and three bronze medals.

SCIE graduates attend leading universities in the world. With 48 Oxbridge offers this year, the College has maintained its position as the school in China with the highest number of Oxbridge offers for 19 consecutive years. Along with top US university offers including from Ivy League, SCIE celebrates another exceptional cohort that will join the alumni network: one that has been contributing to our world in both arts and sciences.
