Encapsulating the adage, 'A tree with strong roots laughs at storms', Acorns International School (AIS) bears fruits that stand the test of time.

Nestled between the verdant folds of Kampala, the capital city of Uganda, AIS is sprawled over a 5-acre state-of-the-art, purpose-built campus, that nurtures the balance between academics and extracurriculars.

Over two decades in the field of education, we have grown to represent more than 50 nationalities. The AIS team strives to inspire and empower every student to achieve their personal best and become inquiring, knowledgeable, pluralists and lifelong learners, who create a better and peaceful world, through intercultural understanding and respect.

Admissions are open throughout the academic year, subject to availability. We have a limit to the number of students per classroom, for uncompromised quality. This interface gives teachers an edge to assess each student’s area of strength, and improvement. Teachers are supported in this process, with timely professional development sessions, to ensure growth and excellence. Through an open-door policy, we ensure that our main stakeholders, our parents, are full partners in the decision-making process and voice concerns not only of their children, but their own too.

The language of instruction is English, with French and Kiswahili as part of our dynamic curriculum. Through our engaging and rigorous, inquiry-based environment, students reach their full academic potential and become responsible, caring, multilingual, and culturally-literate global learners.

Our teaching team is not just diverse, they epitomize academic excellence and have a penchant for pastoral care.

AIS is non-sectarian and co-educational institution, founded on strong partnerships between parents, teachers and learners.

A visit to AIS allows your family to experience the school in a relaxed environment, meet with the administration, as well as visit homerooms, the science lab, performing arts rooms, libraries, swimming pool, auditorium, soccer fields and the basketball courts.

AIS is an authorised International Baccalaureate (IB) Continuum School, offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP).

AIS is an inclusive school that accepts students in the Early Childhood Department (Crèche to Reception Class), Primary (Years 1 to 6), and Secondary (MYP1 - DP2).

It is always onwards and upwards for us, and we would love for you to join us!
