EU Business School is proud to announce its latest partnership agreement with the Escuelas de Lengua Española, Universidad de Salamanca (ELE USAL). Under this new agreement, EU Barcelona students will have the opportunity to participate in Spanish courses while earning credits from one of Spain’s leading language universities.

During the signing on Tuesday, June 22, 2017, EU Business School Vice President Carl Craen stated that he was extremely pleased with the agreement and that he is honored to collaborate with such an esteemed university. “This partnership reflects the globalized nature of the business world today and reflects the international nature of our business school, we’re very proud to provide this offering to EU Barcelona students”.

Dating back to 1218, the University of Salamanca is one of the oldest universities in the world and among the most prestigious in Spain. It was also the very first Spanish university to offer Spanish language courses to foreigners, establishing its program in 1929. Now, its Spanish language courses are world-renowned thanks to the dynamic teaching methods and small class sizes. The school is also responsible for developing and correcting the well-known DELE exam (Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera) for the Instituto Cervantes.

“We are looking forward to a very good experience in partnership with EU,” said María Landa Buil, director at ELE USAL Barcelona. “We are number one in teaching Spanish as a foreign language and EU is also top in its eld, so there are clear synergies between our two schools”.

This is a noteworthy agreement for EU and signifies that the school is significantly expanding its offerings in Spanish. This new addition gives students the chance to earn credits for a language in addition to their program at EU. Students who complete the Spanish language courses will graduate from EU with a certificate and transcripts from ELE USAL.

With over 400 million speakers, Spanish is the second most widely-spoken language in the world, just behind Mandarin. This collaboration is a fantastic opportunity for EU students to develop their knowledge of Spanish, and a huge benefit for those looking to start a career in Spain or Latin America.

EU Business School has partnerships all over the world and strongly believes that international collaboration in education is an excellent way to inspire an open and adaptive attitude in students, enabling them to gain exposure to new concepts and experiences.
